Humanoid robot head known as MEXI (Machine with Emotionally eXtended Intelligence). This robotic face can move its ears, eyes, neck and mouth within a range of 15 degrees, allowing it to express certain human emotions. For this reason it has been called an emotional engine by its designers. It is hoped that robots similar to MEXI will be suitable for use as tour guides at exhibits, as their ability to express feelings will make them more attractive to human visitors. MEXI was designed by roboticists at C-LAB, a centre run jointly by Siemens and the University of Paderborn, Germany.
