Robonaut. This humanoid robot is being developed to take the place of astronauts during extravehicular activity (EVA) tasks. This model has been fitted with a moveable leg that ends in a 'foot' that fits into the work interface facility (WAF) anchors used on the International Space Station. A WAF anchor has been attached to the surface at top to test the equipment. Robonaut is remotely controlled by an astronaut using a telepresence control system. Photographed in 2004.
