Caption: Red telephone box. Designed in 1924, the red telephone box was a familiar sight throughout the United Kingdom. New designs of phone box and the advent of mobile telephones have led to its decline in recent years. However they are still in use particularly in rural areas. Photographed at Elgol, Isle of Skye, Scotland, in February.
