Caption: TV news satellite vans. The satellite dishes on the vans are used to transmit sound and video coverage back to news studios, via satellites orbiting the Earth. The satellite dishes are mostly uPod ones, using SISLink technology. The SISLink uPod was the first automatic satellite uplink system of its kind, and won an industry award in 2005 as the best product in its class. The news agencies include ITN and Sky News, with a Stryder TV satellite truck at lower left. Photographed near Branscombe beach, Devon, in the UK, following the beaching of the MSC Napoli in January 2007.
