SQUID magnetometers are the most sensitive magnetic detectors known. They operate at the supercooled temperature of liquid helium. In medicine, SQUIDs can detect nerve impulses in the brain or heart. They can also detect gravity waves from supernovae and subtle geothermal energy from within the Earth. Magnification x75 at 4x5 inch size.
