Caption: BioWall engineer at work. The BioWall is an interactive bioelectronics display designed to demonstrate bio-inspired electronic software capable of evolving, self-repairing, learning and self-replicating. It consists of a mosaic of several thousand transparent electronic modules that respond to humans touching them. This is the computer hardware behind the display (off screen at left). The wall is 5.3 metres long. The BioWall was developed in 2000 at the Logic Systems Laboratory (LSL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. The engineer is Andre Badertscher of LSL.
