USB connecting plug. This is a "type B" universal serial bus (USB) connecting plug, which connects a computer into a peripheral device. USB became a standard in 1996, and is used for low-speed connections such as keyboards, mice, scanners and digital cameras. It transfers data at 12 Mbps (megabits per second) and can support a chain of up to 127 devices.
