Wearable computer. Researcher testing a handheld keyboard (lower right) and a display system (glasses) for a wearable computer. The keys are designed to be part of a glove, worn on the hand and operated with the fingers. Wearable computers are designed to integrate computer functions more fully into everyday life. One method of interaction is to have the computer output projected directly onto the retina from a set of glasses. This system is being developed at the University of Toronto, Canada, in the laboratory of Steve Mann, one of the pioneers of wearable computers. Photographed in 2002.
