Caption: Interactive computer. Researchers playing a game of chess on an interactive computer system. The player at left has a small camera mounted on his head which tracks the movements of one of his eyes and translates it into the movements of a pointer on the screen. This system could be used to help severely disabled people who cannot use a mouse or keyboard to interact with computers. As well as games, facilities such as word processors, voice synthesisers and even software to control devices in the home could be operated using this system.
