A researcher wearing a virtual reality (VR) headset and data glove. These are used to play a variety of 'Virtuality' computer games. In this 'stand-up' game, two similarly-clad players inhabit a single environment within the computer. By turning their heads, the players can search for each other, using the data glove and joystick to aim and fire a 'gun'. The headset contains two miniature TV screens for stereo vision, and headphones for stereo sound. It also contains a sensor that allows the computer to calculate the direction of sight, and thus what the player can see.
