Caption: Aircraft testing. Technician visually checking the internal structure of an aircraft using video endoscopy. He is feeding an endoscopy tube into the aircraft with his left hand and monitoring the television screen (at centre right). An endoscope is a thin, flexible tube which contains optical fibres and which can be fed into inaccessible areas. Light is passed down some of the fibres in the tube to illuminate the interior of the aircraft. Light passes back up the tube and is relayed by a camera to a television screen.
