Caption: Flight simulation. Composite image showing flight simulations of the Future Supersonic Transport Aircraft (ATSF), Concorde's proposed successor. In the lower frame, a technician views a computer simulation of the aircraft with lines showing the flow of air over its surface. In the upper frame streams of dye flow over the surface of a model of the ATSF in a hydrodynamic (water filled) tunnel. Techniques like these show what the air flow would be like over full-size aircraft. Photographed at the National Office for the Study and Research of Aerospace (ONERA) in Chatillon, France.
