Caption: St Petersburg shipyards. Construction of the icebreaker Moskva (right) in the Baltiysky Zavod shipyard in St Petersburg, Russia. Icebreakers have reinforced hulls and are used to break through sea ice and open up passageways for other ships. This was the first diesel-electrical icebreaker to be built here in the last 32 years. Previously, Russia's non-nuclear-powered ships were built abroad. Photographed in May 2007.
