Caption: Light railcar arriving at a station. This is the Parry People Mover 50, a prototype light rail vehicle. It has a flywheel energy storage system that supplements its small engine. The engine runs on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The flywheel enhances the efficiency of the vehicle by capturing kinetic energy when it slows down. The stored energy is used to power the vehicle when it accelerates. Photographed in Stourbridge, West Midlands, UK, in June 2006.
