Caption: A section of tubing made from carbon fibres in a polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) resin. Traditional carbon fibre tubing has been made with thermosetting resins. This restricts their use to lower temperature products. The use of PPS as the binding resin allows much higher temperatures in the pipe, such as might be found in superheated steam, and so has a much wider range of applications.
