Bulb testing. Halogene light bulbs for vehicle headlights undergoing endurance testing. They are being spun on a carousel to simulate the forces they will experience during driving. The bulbs receive a similar amount of wear from spinning them for a few hours at very high speeds as in a year of driving. The light bulbs contain inert halogen gases which slow the loss of their metal filament and extend the bulb's life. They are also coated with a thin layer of alloy which improves efficiency and lowers the emission of harmful ult- raviolet radiation.
