Rights Managed

Recycling domestic waste. Workers sorting through domestic and office waste on a conveyor belt, selecting items for recycling. Items that can be recycled from domestic waste include paper, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic and textiles. The items will be taken away to be recycled, and the remaining waste incinerated or taken to a landfill site. Several hundred tons of waste are processed in a single day. This is the Syctom materials recovery facility in Nanterre, near Paris, France. Since 2004, it has been operated by Veolia Environmental Services, recycling thousands of tons of waste from around a million people.
