Caption: Comparison of a car windscreen finished with Airco Solar Products "Super-H (TM)" vacuum sputtered coating with uncoated glass, showing the windscreen after ice has melted away from the vision area. The glass coating has a dual function, lowering solar heating by 50% and reducing the ultra-violet transmission that may damage internal upholstery and trim. The tranmission of visible light is only minimally affected. The same coating can carry an electric current to heat the windscreen and disperse ice formations. Airco Solar Products of Concord, California, are a member of The BOC Group.
