Skyscrapers, Canary Wharf, London, England. Canary Wharf is a large business district in East London, located on the north bank of the River Thames. The buildings were constructed in the 1980s and early 1990s as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Docklands area. The tallest building (at left) is 1 Canada Square (also known as Canary Wharf Tower). It is 244 metres high, and (as of 2004) is the tallest building in London.
