The buildings were constructed in the 1980s and early 1990s as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Docklands area. The tallest building (at upper centre) is 1 Canada Square (also known as Canary Wharf Tower). It is 244 metres high, and (as of 2004) is the tallest building in London.
