Caption: A visitor making soap films at the Musee de la Villette. This was part of an exhibition in 1990 showing the way soap films and bubbles form, and the properties of the films in forming surfaces. Wire frames outlining a structure's contours were dipped into a soap solution, the surface tension effects of the soap film pulling it into the smallest possible surface for that structure. The colours seen on the soap film are caused by interference effects of the light reflected from its surface. The Musee de la Villette is in Paris.
