Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Recycling polythene: man operating an extrusion machine producing polythene sheet tubing. Here, the plastic tubing is blown out of its former (bottom) by hot air which shapes & dries the plastic tube before it is folded & rolled. The raw materials in this process are pellets of recycled polythene which are reformed from waste polythene that has been macerated with hot water. The recycled polythene sheeting is used in the building industry & in other applications where the toxicity of the plastic is not a critical factor. Photographed at Zedcor Ltd, U.K..
