Military arctic survival training. Navy recruit changing into dry clothes, during arctic survival training, Northern Greenland. The recruit has just completed the task of removing himself from icy water. He must change into dry clothes before hypothermia sets in. The recruit is training to become a member of the Royal Danish Navy's SIRIUS sledge patrol unit. Other tasks required during training include building emergency snow shelters, hunting for food, trekking on skis and driving sledgedog teams. The primary task of SIRIUS is to patrol, survey and protect Danish territory in North and Northeast Greenland.
