Caption: Restored threshing machine. This antique and portable steam-powered machine was used by farmers for threshing cereal crops. The whole cut plant, consisting of stalks, husks and grain, is fed into the machine. The stalks are separated from the chaff (husk) and grain by a drum mechanism and pass out of the machine. The grain and chaff falls onto a moving sieve, which allows only the grain to fall through and be collected. This machine was manufactured by the Keck-Gonnerman Company.
