A cross-section of the building shows the control room (upper centre), sleeping rooms for night duty staff (centre) and a meteorological office (lower centre). A mast and aerials for receiving radio communications from aircraft in flight are seen on the tower's roof. The central mast is topped by red lamps and a wind vane.
