Caption: Model of the Queen Elizabeth II (QE2) ocean liner. The construction of this British ocean liner began in 1965. It was launched in 1967, and made its maiden voyage in 1969, five years after this photograph was taken. It is 293 metres in length, weighs over 70,000 tonnes, and can carry over 1700 passengers. Photographed in 1964, at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, UK.
