Caption: Early TV image showing a face. This image was made on a television designed by John Logie Baird, in 1926. Baird made mechanical televisions, which produced a picture using a spinning Nipkow disc. Models produced at around the same time by inventors such as Farnsworth used the now- universal electron beam scanning.
