Acoustics laboratory. The upper transmission room in an acoustics laboratory, part of a special building designed for the accurate testing of the acoustic properties of building materials. A floor section (lower centre) has been built into the aperture of the upper transmission room for testing. It is surrounded by a low brick wall, which prevents sound from escaping into areas outside the test region. Photographed at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, UK.
