Caption: Electrical heater. Historical artwork of a late 19th-century electric heater. This design was by the French inventor Le Roy. High-resistance metal filaments, encased in glass bulbs, glow and give off heat when the electricity is turned on. The electricity is supplied through the wires at lower left.
