Caption: Two constellations in the ancient arabic designation, after an illustration in "Treatise on the Fixed Stars" by Abd El-Rahman in the 15th century. The two constellations represent a mythical beast (half man, half horse) and a lion. Derived from the constellations of Ptolemy, they are roughly equivalent to the modern Centaurus (The Centaur) to the left and Lupus (The Wolf) to the right.
