Caption: Early photography. This X-ray photograph (authorship unknown) was obtained in 1896, a year after the discovery of X-rays by the German physicist Wilhelm Konrad Roentgen (1845-1923). He took the first X-ray photograph on December 22nd 1895 when he X-rayed his wife's hand.
