Caption: German photograph copier from 1930. This device, similar in appearance and function to a camera, was used to make copies of a photograph. A photographic plate is seen at lower right, and the bellows device at left is adjustable to allow the image to be focused correctly. By the 1930s, portable film cameras were available, but the best plate cameras and photographs were still of superior quality. This photographic replicator is part of a historical exhibition at the Polytechnical Museum, Moscow, Russia. Photographed in 2006.
