Caption: Bubble coral (Plerogyra sinuosa). The bubble-like structures of this coral envelop and protect the feeding tentacles of the individual coral polyps. At night, when this coral feeds, the bubbles are deflated to expose the stinging tentacles. It is an aggressive coral, attacking anything around it. It inhabits the tropical Indo-Pacific region.
