Caption: LIBRARY Nematode worm. Light micrograph of a nematode worm or roundworm belonging to the phylum Nematoda. This worm lives in the soil as a plant parasite, using a sharp stylet (at right) to pierce roots. Roundworms are cylindrical, tapering animals with simple bodies which consist of an interior gut and a muscular outer wall, separated by a fluid-filled pseudocel cavity. Magnification: x90 at 35mm size.
