Caption: Red Sea anemone shrimp (Perclimenes longicarpus). As its name suggests, this shrimp is found only in the Red Sea. It is found among anemones, where it feeds on parasites and detritus, thus cleaning the anemones. It is also associated with the coral seen in the background (Physogyra lichtensteini), which forms the bulbous structures seen. These are 5-10 millimetres wide, only slightly smaller than the shrimp. Photographed in the Red Sea, at St John's Reef off the coast of southern Egypt.
