Caption: Florida spiny lobster (Panulirus argus). Also known as the Caribbean spiny lobster, this species of lobster has spines covering its shell, which protect it from predators. It is nocturnal and is found in tropical waters of the the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. It feeds on gastropods, chitons, bivalves, carrion, sea urchins, worms, crustaceans and some types of sea vegetation.
