Caption: Leafhopper. View of a leafhopper (family Cicadellidae or Jassidae) or "planthopper" trapped in a drop of water. It is named 'leafhopper' because it is usually found on leaves. It is also very good at jumping for its size and it also flies readily. The insect causes a great deal of damage to crops in the warmer parts of the world. By removing the sap and destroying chlorophyll, they produce pale blotches on their feeding site.
