Caption: Green darners (Anax junius) over a pond. This is one of the largest dragonflies found in North America, reaching up to 75 millimetres in length. It is found near still or very slow-moving water with lots of aquatic vegetation. The green darner is carnivorous, feeding on aquatic insects, tadpoles and very small fish.
