Caption: Chocolate-coated African locusts (Locusta migratoria) resting on a slice of peach with strawberry garnish. The eating of insects, entomophagy, occurs all over the world, and includes ants, beetles and moths. Insects, along with arachnids such as spiders and scorpions, are good sources of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The African locust is a major crop pest in Africa and Asia. It travels in large swarms eating all vegetation in its path.
