This beetle is found to the east of the Rocky Mountains in the USA, but related beetles are common throughout the country. The spotted cucumber beetle is a pest of several crops, including cucumbers and melons. It also transmits Erwinia tracheiphila, a bacterium that causes plants to wilt. Magnification: x2 at 35mm size.
