Caption: Flea beetle (Crepidodera ferruginea). This species of flea beetle measures between 3-4mm in length. It is noted for its abilty to jump high which is made possible by having a broad and fat hind femur (first leg segment). It is commonly found on the stinging nettle (Urtica dioica). Flea beetles are herbivorous and notorious pests of cruciferous vegetables (brassicas).
