Caption: Colorado potato beetle larva (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) on a leaf. This beetle is found throughout North America, mainland Europe and northern Asia. It is a major pest of potatoes and may also attack tomatoes and aubergines. Efforts to eradicate the beetle have been unsuccessful as it is able to develop resistance to insecticides quickly. Photographed in Alberta, Canada.
