Caption: Parasitic wasp. Female parasitic wasp (Leptomastix dactylopii) about to lay an egg in a citrus mealy bug (Planococcus citri). The mealy bug (lower right) is covered in wax (white). Once the wasp larva hatches, it will feed on the mealy bug. As it kills this crop-damaging species, the wasp is regarded as a beneficial insect.
