Wood ants are often slave ants for the blood-red ant (Fusca sanguinea), working for a blood-red queen ant after she has invaded their nest. Ants will generally eat whatever they can find. Wood ants live in woods and heathlands. Magnification: x6.5 when printed 10cm wide.
