Caption: Heliconius butterfly (Heliconius sp.) resting on a flower. These butterflies are found in tropical forests in the Americas. They are foul tasting and may be poisonous. For this reason they are left well alone by predators which normally feed on butterflies. This protection has led to them being bolder than most butterflies, and they can often be seen congregating in large swarms, which usually return to the same sleeping place night after night.
