Caption: White witch moth (Thysania agrippina). This moth has a wingspan of up to 31 centimetres, the largest wingspan seen in lepidopterans (butterflies and moths). It is also known as the birdwing moth, ghost moth, great grey witch moth or great owlet moth. It is found mainly in Mexico, Central and South America, but sometimes occurs in the southern USA. Specimen obtained in Petit-Saut, French Guiana.
