Common green adult lacewing (Chrysoperla carnea) resting on a leaf. This carnivorous insect feeds on the insect inhabitants of several crop plants. The larva is a voracious predator of aphids, which are a pest of many important crops. The lacewing is commonly used as a biological control agent to keep aphid populations in check.
