Caption: Squid. Close-up of a squid's eye. The skin on a squid is covered with chromatophores (light- reflecting cells), which allow the squid to change colour according to its surroundings. This acts as a form of camouflage from predators. The eyes of a squid contains a hard lens used for focusing that moves mechanically. Photographed at night on the reef at Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary, Florida, USA.
