Caption: Silvertip shark. Silvertip shark (Carcharhinus albimarginatus) swimming over a coral reef. This shark inhabits warm seas in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, preferring deep reefs some 20-30 metres beneath the surface. It is a fast and agile hunter, feeding mainly on fish, although it also takes cephalopods. It is an aggressive species, and has been known to attack humans. It may reach a length of up to three metres. Photographed off Tsoi Island, New Ireland, Papua New Guinea.
