Caption: Sea goldie fish (Pseudanthias squamipinnis) among coral. These territorial fish are found on coral reefs throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific region. Also called fairy basslets, these fish feed mainly on plankton. The males, which can reach 15 centimetres in length, are distinguished by the presence of a long spine on their upper fin (seen at upper centre). Photographed in the Red Sea, at St John's Reef off the coast of southern Egypt.
